A Day for Our Vets (11/11/2024)

Today, across our great country, communities will be honoring our veterans. I know it’s an important event for us. Our family is blessed to have multiple veterans: my uncle, Bernard Boyle, died in WWII; my father, Charley Boyle served in the Army in Korea; my husband, Kenneth, served in the Army and my brother -in-law, John, served in the Navy during the Vietnam War; my brother, Randy Boyle, served in the Marines as has my grandson, Jacob Breunig.

We owe a great deal as Americans to the men and women of our nation who have fought for our country and our freedom at home and abroad. And today, we should not only honor them with parades and sincere “thank you for your service,” but also by holding them in prayer.

At this time when our world is at war in so many places, please take time to pray to the LORD for all those who have served in the past and for all those currently serving around the world.

The LORD created us to be free. The LORD gave us free will. But freedom isn’t free. It often comes at a huge cost. Let us recognize that with thanksgiving to our LORD, with prayers to the Spirit to guide us, and with heartfelt prayers for those who have sacrificed so much in the struggles to keep us free.
