A Great Day (05/04/2025)

Yesterday was my granddaughter’s wedding day. The whole family gathered together to share in this great beginning. Memories were made and there are photos to prove most of it. But the most important, the union of two souls, that’s hard to capture on film.

This morning, at the hotel, I spoke to the couple just before they took off to begin their next chapter. They were radiant in their joy. I reminded them to remember their moments and to return to them when the going got tough. Then I sent them off with a hug and a deeply felt “Love you; mean it!”

I recall my wedding day. I recall my joy in knowing Kenneth and I were together. I have recalled the day and my hope and my love when the going got tough many times. It’s good to have a radiant image in our minds when the world gets cloudy. And it will get cloudy. Life’s like that, don’t you know.

Today, I pray that my granddaughter and her new husband go forward to forge a bright and loving future here and that they are able to lay the groundwork for the bright and loving future beyond.

Until tomorrow, let us all love well.

Congratulations to them! We share that date with them! My husband and I were married 55 years ago on May 3 in Ann Arbor, Michigan.
