Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: July 16,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Matthew 11, 28-30

Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Have I accepted Christ’s yoke? Am I allowing Him to lead?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

In today’s short gospel text, Jesus invites us to accept His yoke, giving Him our burdens and opening ourselves to his lead.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, my Savior, take my burdens upon You, place your yoke on my heart, teach me, lead me, give me rest. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
