Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: July 20,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Micah 6: 6-8

With what shall I come before the LORD and give homage before the God? Shall I come before him with burnt offerings, with calves a year old? Will the LORD be pleased with thousands of rams or with thousands of rivers of oil? Shall I give my firstborn for my transgression, the fruit of my body for the sin of my soul?

The LORD has shown you, O man, what is needed and what the LORD requires of you: do justice, love faithfulness, and walk humbly with your God.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Am I bent on grand gestures rather than simple and sincere actions?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

Through the first reading from the prophet Micah, we are reminded that what is required of us. It is simple, not extravagant.  We are created in relationship for relationship, and life is to revolve around the essential relationship with our LORD and lead us to a loving relationship with others.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

LORD, open my mind, my heart and soul to your creative and sustaining love. Help me to become the one You created me to be, the one You call me to be, the one You grace me to be. Grant that I may love You and those whom You love. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
