Date: Wednesday of the 16th Week in Ordinary Time

R. I will sing of your salvation.

In you, O LORD, I take refuge;

let me never be put to shame.

In your justice rescue me and deliver me;

incline your ear to me and save me.

R. I will sing of your salvation.

Be my rock of refuge,

a stronghold to give me safety,

for you are my rock and my fortress.

O my God, rescue me from the hand of the wicked.

R. I will sing of your salvation.

For you are my hope, O Lord;

my trust, O God, from my youth.

On you I depend from birth;

from my mother’s womb you are my strength.

R. I will sing of your salvation.

My mouth shall declare your justice,

day by day your salvation.

O God, you have taught me from my youth,

and till the present I proclaim your wondrous deeds.

R. I will sing of your salvation.

Breaking the text open – background and summary:

The responsorial psalm today resonates with us as we acknowledge the LORD’s salvation and wondrous deeds.

Meditating on the text with personal questions:

How grateful am I to the LORD? How do I express that to the LORD and to others?

Praying:

LORD, You truly are my refuge, the One to whom I turn in my need. Day after day, You have been there for me, LORD, my rock and my fortress, the One whom I trust, knowing that You love is merciful and true. May I proclaim You and your love to all through my words and deeds this day and all days of my life. May I live as You call me to live, as your beloved child. Amen.
