“Good morning, LORD. Thank you for this day. Thank you for the cool breeze and sunshine that brightens my corner of this world this morning. May I carry my awareness of You and your loving presence with me into my day.

“Please inspire me, LORD, to write the blog well, to catch your will and claim it for the moment, to write about those things you desire for me to write, to show You and your presence in our world and lives as You desire to be revealed. Inspire me, LORD, I pray.”

This morning as I began my day in the LORD on my porch, these were my words. And as I finished writing them, I got the distinct impression that I was to share them with you today. I’ve often referred to my time in the morning on the porch in prayer. But I’ve never shared with you what that looks like, what it entails. This morning, I was moved to share, to show you, to invite you into my prayer in hopes that it would open you to your prayer in the LORD.

While there was more, much, much more, I discerned that to I was to share the beginning, the awakening in the LORD and the awareness of the LORD’s presence as well as the LORD’s desire for me this day. And my mind and heart were filled with the LORD’s desire for all of us to carry the LORD with us into our day and to seek the LORD’s will and give ourselves over to that will.

We are each unique; our loving LORD made us so. Our diversity is part of the LORD’s divine design. But out of that diversity are the elements of a cohesive unity, binding us together as we strive to realize our creator’s will for us and for our world. If we are to individually become those whom we are created to be, we must realize it is in relationship to our LORD and to one another.

As we begin our days, let us always begin them in the LORD without whom we would not, could not exist. Let us open our minds, our hearts, and our souls to the pervasive will of our LORD who wills that we all have life and have it in abundance. And let us commit to bringing that which the LORD gives to us to the task at hand for every person on earth, to love the LORD and one another. How has the LORD equipped us for life and good? How can using these gifts contribute to the LORD’s glory and to the benefit of our sisters and brothers?

My way will vary from yours as my gifts are different than yours. But we all share the same destination, not a place but a reunion with our creator, our savior, our sanctifier. And while our ways will vary, we are all called to journey on “the Way,” in Christ who is “The Truth and the Life.” But the thing about the journey is that we must know where we are headed before we set out. And daily we must re-orient ourselves to our LORD and His divine design and will.

Let us remember, it is in the LORD “in whom we live and move and have our being.”

Until tomorrow, let us all love well.
