It Made Me Think of You (03/21/2026)

I am a simple person, so it makes sense that I am fond of Lenox pieces because of their simplicity. If you visit, you will find pieces of the ivory bone china throughout my home. But what makes most of these pieces so special to me is that they were gifts from others who had noticed my Lenox and when they’d seen a piece, they thought of me and got it for me.
I know I have done the same for others like buying the Coca-Cola memorabilia for my brother, Randy, and his collection or picking up a wonderful quote plaque for my sister, Betty, and her sayings wall, or an ampersand for my daughter, Kirsten. And the discovery is only the beginning of the gift, finding something that reminds one of a special person, and then being able to share it and say “It made me think of you.”
This week, as I am nearing the end of my Lenten journey, it seems that everywhere I turn, there is something that reminds me of Jesus, of His teaching, of His miracles, of his loving care for the least and the last, of His selflessness, of His love beyond comprehension that would lead Him to make the ultimate sacrifice for you and me. Just yesterday, it was the crucifix by my front door, the bible on my table by my desk, the pocket cross I put in my pocket first thing, the funeral luncheon notebook that made me think of Jesus on the cross and Mary at the foot of the cross on Good Friday. And every single one caused me to pause, to remember.
Lent is supposed to do that for us, sensitize us, tenderize us, waken us to Christ and His love around us and within us. This week, we should be seeing Him everywhere, hearing his words in our mind, feeling His love in our hearts, and leading us to act upon the love we have received, the love we experience, taking it forward for love of Him.
Until tomorrow, let us all love well.
