LORD, Hear Our Prayer (11/06/2024)

This morning, as I reflect upon yesterday, election day in our nation, the one thing I pray for is unity. “One nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all.” Today, I ask all my readers to join with me in praying to our LORD for unity in our nation, for the Spirit to gift us with the LORD’s transformative love and desire to bring our diverse nation together.

Loving and gracious LORD, Father, Son, Spirit, Creator, Redeemer, Sanctifier, we praise You for who You are: love itself, love revealed, love given. Always and everywhere You are. Your power and your presence manifest your great love. We turn to You this day seeking your guidance and grace.

Our nation, the United States of America, was founded on the truth that we are created by You and endowed with rights. We lift our voice this day to seek your guidance and your grace as we go forward.

Send your Spirit to guide us and to help us see one another as sisters and brothers in Christ rather than as members of a political party. May your Spirit tenderize our minds and hearts so that we might be more open to Your will for us individually and nationally.

Grant that we may work together for your glory and our well-being this day and all days. Assist us in discerning your will for us and strengthen our resolve so that we might live fully the life You are calling us to live, in You, with You, and through You.
