A Gift from Fat Finger Texting (06/15/2026)

I shouldn’t text because I am not good at it. My fingers are fatter than the letters on the typing grid on my phone, so I often hit the adjacent letters rather than the correct letters. And as a result, I send messages that often have words I wasn’t thinking or trying to spell. But every now and then, it works out better.
Yesterday, after I received a thoughtful text from my niece to myself and my brother, I responded, “Thanks for all your living goodness.” My “o” became and “I” because of my fat texting finger. I meant to write “loving” but it came out “living.” I realized it only after I sent it. I texted again, apologizing. But then my brother texted that for our niece, “living is loving.” Turned out that my fat texting finger had tripped the door to a much better testament to our niece’s loving nature.
As I say frequently, God writes straight with crooked lines, and yesterday He used a fat fingered midwestern texter to do it. Isn’t life in the LORD amazing at times. Grace abounds and it’s amazing when we cooperate with it.
I loved my brother’s ability to see the truth in my misspelling and point out for me how I am called to live my love for my LORD and others – “living is loving.” We are called to bring our love into all the moments of our lives, to every inch of our journey. I love it when I learn a lesson on the go. It reminds me that I am called to be open to the LORD at all times, not just when I am on my knees.
As we continue our journeys in faith, let us seek to do it living our love all along the way. Jesus calls us to love radically. Let us be the disciples He calls us to be.
Until tomorrow, let us all love well.
