Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: April 1,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Isaiah 50:7-9a

For the LORD will help me;

therefore, I shall not be humiliated.

And I have set my face like a flint,

and I know that I shall not be put to shame.

He is near who justifies me.

Who will contend with me?

Let us stand together.

Who is my adversary?

Let him confront me.

Behold, the LORD will help me.

Who is he that shall condemn me?

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Reading from 3^rd Isaiah – a “suffering servant song” – pointing to Jesus’ trust in the Father during his Passion

“the LORD will help me” – trusting model of discipleship

“He is near” – reliance upon the LORD – confidence in the LORD’s love

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Almighty Father, for love of us, You sent your only-begotten Son to take on our human nature and to redeem us of our sins, though He himself was sinless. For love of You and love of us, He selflessly gave himself for our redemption upon the cross of Calvary, according to your will.  He trusted in your loving will. Send your Spirit to gift us with His fruits so that we might more perfectly recall and reflect upon His sacrifice and resolve to follow more perfectly in His footsteps. Grace us with love, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Grant that on Easter we may be full of joy and peace. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.
