Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: October 23,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Ephesians 4:1-6
I, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to live in a manner worthy of the call you have received, with all humility and meekness, with patience, bearing with one another through love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the spirit in the bond of peace, one Body and one Spirit, as you were also called to the one hope of your call, one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
Am I living outwardly in a manner that reflects my call to faith, hope and love?
BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:
Today’s first reading calls us live as we are called to live by our Savior in the Spirit with a rightful focus on unity within the living Body of Christ guided by one Spirit, bolstered by one hope, following one LORD, sharing one faith and one baptism.
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
LORD, Almighty Father, we thank You for the gift of your only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, who has called us to discipleship, to live in a way worthy of His call, relying upon your love and the grace of the Spirit. Teach us so that we might live with humility and gentleness, with patience and loving mercy. Strengthen our resolve to live in the unity of the Spirit, turning away from division and polarization. Bind us together, LORD, in faith, hope and love for your glory. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
