Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: July 5,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Matthew 11:28-30

“Come to me all who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden light.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Will I bring my burdens and myself to Christ? Will I allow His love to give me peace?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

Jesus invites us into relationship with Him using the imagery of the yoke. He invites us to a new way of life through Him marked by grace and love and the profound peace possible as His disciple.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, I come to You in response to your promise of rest for my soul. I bring my burdens to You, seeking rest but also peace. Send your Spirit to help me open myself completely to your yoke so that I might more perfectly learn your way, your meekness and humility. Grant that in my submission to your yoke, I find the peace You promise. Amen.
