Scripture Text: John 6:37-40

Jesus said to the crowds:

“Everything that the Father gives me will come to me, and I will not reject anyone who comes to me, because I came down from heaven not to do my own will but the will of the one who sent me. And this is the will of the one who sent me, that I should not lose anything of what he gave me, but that I should raise it on the last day. For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him may have eternal life, and I shall raise him on the last day.”

The gospel for today recounts Jesus’ “Bread of Life Discourse” in which He promised to us that whoever believes in Him will have eternal life.

Do I wholly and deeply believe in Jesus Christ as Son of God and my Redeemer?

Praying:

LORD, Almighty Father, we lift our voices and our hearts in praise of You and we offer thanksgiving to You for your loving gift of your only begotten Son to us. We thank You for His revelation of your love, for His teachings and healings, and most especially for His redemption of our souls. Through Him we came to know that salvation is from You, through Him, and in the Spirit. Send your Spirit to stir the embers within our being so that the fire of your love will transform us and so that we might fully and wholly open our minds and hearts to your love and to your beloved Son, our Redeemer. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.
