Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: October 10,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Luke 11:27-28

While Jesus was speaking, a certain woman in the crowd shouted out to him, “Blessed is the womb that bore you and the breasts at which you nursed.” But he said, “Rather, blessed are they who hear the word of God and keep it.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Do I listen so as to truly “hear” the Word of God? Do I honor what I hear?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

Jesus’ response today to a woman’s shout out to His mother, is not a dismissal of His mother but rather an affirmation of her and all who open themselves to the Word of the LORD and live their life according to His will.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

LORD, open not only my ears to hear but my heart to receive your Word. Grant that I may remain in You and that You will remain in me. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
