Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: October 11,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Philippians 4:12-14, 19-20

I know both how to live humbly and to live in abundance. Everywhere and in all things, I am instructed both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need. I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. Notwithstanding, you have done well in understanding my affliction…But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. And now, to God and our Father be glory forever and ever. Amen.

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Do I believe that “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me”? Do I call upon Christ in my need?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

Today’s second reading from Paul’s Letter to the Philippians highlights the peace that comes from reliance on and faith in Christ. This path does not shelter us from need, but grants us contentment of heart and soul through Christ.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

LORD, Jesus Christ, I come to You this day seeking the peace that only You can provide. Send the Spirit to open my mind, my heart, my soul fully to You and to your presence and peace. Grant that I may learn to rely on You wholly and on the strength You give to me. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
