Scripture Text: Psalm 145:10-11, 12-13, 17-18
R. (12) Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
Let all your works give you thanks, O LORD,
and let your faithful ones bless you.
Let them discourse of the glory of your Kingdom
and speak of your might.
R. Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
Making known to men your might
and the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
Your Kingdom is a Kingdom for all ages,
and your dominion endures through all generations.
R. Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
The LORD is just in all his ways
and holy in all his works.
The LORD is near to all who call upon him,
to all who call upon him in truth.
R. Your friends make known, O Lord, the glorious splendor of your Kingdom.
Breaking the text open – background and summary:
The responsorial psalm today, drawn from Psalm 145, a hymnic psalm, reminds us of the LORD’s glory and calls us to proclaim the LORD’s loving works to all. The final words of the psalm response remind us of the LORD’s power and presence, manifestations of His love.
Meditating on the text with personal questions:
Does my life suggest to others that I know the LORD? Do I thank the LORD for the good in my life?
Praying:
LORD, Almighty Father, Beloved Son, Most Holy Spirit, always and everywhere You are and always will be. Your works of creation announce to the seeing world your existence. Let us raise our voices, too, to tell others of the wonders of a loving relationship with You. Grant that we may love You wholly and allow your love for us to transform us into the daughters and sons You created us to be, the disciples You call us to be, your temples here on earth. Help us to live is such a way as to bring You and your amazing love to others and others to You. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be world without end. Amen.
