She Never Has Liked Me (05/14/2026)

She never has been friendly. I have tried to talk to her, but I guess our interests aren’t the same. I tried again just this past week. I saw her and spoke, but she walked right by without acknowledging me. I chalked it up to her not hearing me. However, if I had to write it in ink, I might have to admit she did but didn’t want to speak. I tried to shake it off, but obviously, it is still there. And the next time I see her, I’ll try again.

I learned a long time ago that I am not everyone’s “cup of tea.” People’s tastes and people’s perspectives are different, diverse, sometimes difficult to understand. But as a wise person once told me, there’s no excuse for rudeness. So, I’ll keep trying because that what Jesus told me to do, “Love one another as I have loved you.” I know for a fact that I’ve not always been receptive to Him and His love. And if you think that’s simple, I encourage you to think it over again.

Life’s choices are sometimes major, but most of the time they are quite simple. Most days, the choices we make aren’t earth-shattering, they don’t even cause a ripple on the earth’s surface, but they matter, nonetheless. Our choices need to align well with our faith in an all-loving and merciful LORD. Our choices need to reflect the love of our LORD who died for all humanity, not just those who thought well of Him and invited him to dinner. Sounds simple. It is in fact, but it’s not always easy.

And so, if I happen to encounter her today, I will speak. I will smile. I will sincerely hope that her life is going well and she is doing well. I will treat her as I would like her to treat me. That’s another thing Jesus told me I was supposed to do. And I’m trying to not just be a woman who knows His words but one who lives them. So, I’m going to give it another try today.

Life, I have found, is like that – full of challenges. One needs to travel light without the weight of “what if.” And so, may we live this day as our Savior calls us to live it. Remaining in His love and being willing to share it with everyone with whom we encounter.

Until tomorrow, let us all love well.

Keep trying. A smile and a silent prayer.

Perhaps today will be the day that you get a response. 🙏🌻
