Snack & Scripture Blessings (09/23/2026)

Monday afternoon we began a new season of scripture study at our parish. We are studying the Acts of the Apostles by Luke. At our first session, we were blessed to have 24 individuals give two hours of their time to sit together, solidify the sense of community among us, share our faith with one another, and grow our own faith, all with snacks. Could we be more blessed? Well, I think next week there will be four additional participants who couldn’t come yesterday but want to join us. Blessing in abundance.

Seriously, dedicating time to break open the Word of God, to speak openly about how the readings stir us and how the words resonate within our minds and hearts, all act to strengthen our own faith. It is the familiar irony of Christianity – the more one shares – the more one has. It does not decrease our store of faith but rather increase it and concretize it. We find that being able to speak out loud about our faith increases its strength and our resolve.

And we remember those who accompany us week to week as we make our way through the texts, those who encourage us, those who listen to our outpourings. The community bonds of fellow scripture study participants are strong.

Not everyone has this same opportunity, but all of us are invited to find ways to share our journeys of faith and our love for Christ with others. Some will find that through service opportunities within the community, some within study groups, some within friendships that are open to and strengthened through faith sharing. As we continue our spiritual journeys, may we all find opportunities to grow our faith in and love for Christ and take advantage of them often.

Until tomorrow, let us all love well.
