Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: April 18,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   John 6:16-21

Jesus’ disciples went down to the sea and embarked on a boat over the sea to Capernaum. It was dark and Jesus was not with them. The sea began to rise and a great wind blew. After they had rowed about twenty-five or thirty furlongs, they saw Jesus walking on the sea toward them in the boat, and they were afraid.

But He said to them, “It is I, do not be afraid.” They received him into the boat, and immediately, the boat reached land.

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

BREAKING THE TEXT OPEN:

This passage immediately follows Jesus’ multiplication of loaves and fishes to feed over 5,000. Jesus’ appearance and arrival at the boat when the disciples are alarmed addresses Christ’s presence during turbulent times and with Him brings peace.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, our Savior, we come to You with open minds and hearts and ask that You remain with us as You promised, most especially during times of darkness and anxiety. You remind us that You are with us, not to be afraid. Be with us, Lord, be with us. Amen.
