LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Hebrews 4:14-16; 5:7-9
Seeing then that we have a great high priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we do not have a high priest that untouched by the feeling of our infirmities but one who was in all points tempted like us yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace so that we may obtain mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
Who in the days of his fleshly life, he offered up prayers and supplications with loud cries and tears to Him who was able to save him from death, and He was heard because of His reverence for God. Though he was the Son, he learned obedience by the things which he suffered. And being made perfect, he became the source of eternal salvation to all who obey him.
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
Lord, Jesus Christ, our great high priest whose sacrifice was yourself for our salvation, I turn to You and, with confidence, approach You at the right hand of the Father, at the throne of grace. I turn to You because of your perseverance in loving faith and your strength in suffering. I turn to You because You know, you understand human suffering. I pray for strength to persevere and mercy for those times that I have failed. Teach me obedience and loving submission to the will of the Father whose love for me is without question and whose desire for my life in abundance is established. Be with me, Lord.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
