Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: April 7,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Acts 2: 1a, 14a, 36-41

And on the day of Pentecost, Peter, standing up with the eleven lifted up his voice and said to them: “Let all the house of Israel know with certainty that God made that same Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ.”

When they heard this, they were pierced to the heart and said to Peter and the rest of the apostles, “Brethren, what shall we do?”

Peter said to them, “Repent and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is to you and to your children and to all, even the far off, to as many as the Lord our God shall call.”

And he testified further saying, “Save yourself from this perverse generation.” Then those who had received his word were baptized. That day three thousand souls were added to them.

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

“Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ”

“Repent and be baptized”

“gift of the Holy Spirit”

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Almighty Father, during this Octave of Easter, as we continue to celebrate the joy of Easter, the joy of the crucified Jesus Christ risen from the dead, let us carry forth with us full knowledge of your Son’s life-giving gift to us in His selfless sacrifice and in His victory over sin and death. Send the Spirit to guide us and grace us in our journey, following Christ as His disciples. We ask this in the name of your son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.
