LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Acts 3:1-8
Peter and John went up together into the temple at the hour of prayer, at the ninth hour. And a certain man who had been lame from his mother’s womb had been carried daily and laid at the gate of the temple which was called Beautiful to beg for alms from those who entered the temple. When he saw Peter and John approach the temple, he asked for alms.
Peter, looking intently upon him with John, said, “Look at us.” And the lame man looked at them, expecting to receive something from them. Then Peter said, “Silver and gold, I have not. But what I have I give to you. In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk.” And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up. Immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. And leaping up, stood and walked and entered with them into the temple, walking and leaping and praising God.
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
“what I have I give to you” – value of faith shared
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior of humanity, I open my mind and heart to You this day. Remain in me. Help me to remain in You. Allow me to be your vessel, to bring You and your love to others. Strengthen me. Increase my faith, deepen my hope, intensify my love so that they might be tools of my discipleship. Amen.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
