LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Acts 3:11-20

As the lame man who had been healed clung to Peter and John, all the people rushed to them with wonder in the portico called Solomon’s. When Peter saw this, he spoke to the people. “People of Israel, why do you marvel at this? Why do you look at us as though we made this man walk by our own power of holiness? The God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, the God of our fathers, has glorified his Son, Jesus, whom you delivered up and denied in the presence of Pilate when he was determined to let him go. But you denied the Holy One and the Just and chose a murderer to be given to you and killed the Prince of life who God raised from the dead, and of this we are witnesses.

“And it was faith in His name that made this man whom you see and know strong. Yes, the faith in Him has given this man perfect health in presence of you all.  It was through ignorance that you did this as did your leaders. But those things that God showed to you through the words of his prophets, that Christ should suffer, He has so fulfilled.

“Therefore, repent, and be converted so that your sins may be blotted out and so that Lord’s presence may refresh you. He shall send Jesus Christ who was appointed to you.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

“Faith in His name that made this man whom you see and know strong”

“Repent and be converted”

“So your sins may be blotted out and so that the Lord’s presence may refresh you.”

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord, Almighty Father, You sent your Son to not only take on our human nature but restore it and redeem us through His life, death, and resurrection. Send your Spirit to stir within us an openness to the paramount faith in your Son and love for your Son through whom your divine will for our salvation was fulfilled. Grant that we open our minds, our hearts, our wills, our very being to Him so that His presence may refresh us, restore us, renew us, and redeem us. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
