Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: July 15,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Matthew 11:25-27

At that time, Jesus answered and said, “I thank you, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because you have hidden these things from the wise and prudent and have revealed them to the childlike because, Father, it seemed good in your sight. All things are given to me by my Father and no one knows the Son except the Father. Neither does anyone know the Father except the Son and the ones to whom the Son reveals him.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Have I opened my mind and heart to Christ in all humility? Have I surrendered my intellectual pride to Him so that He might illuminate my soul with childlike faith?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

In today’s short gospel text, Jesus calls us to set down our self-reliance and intellectual arrogance and recognize that it is only through childlike faith that we can come to Him and the Father.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

LORD, I surrender to You recognizing that it is only through You that I will come to know You and love You and know myself. Enlighten me, I pray humbly. Open my mind and heart to You and your love. Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
