Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: July 7, 2024

Scripture Text:  2 Corinthians 12:7-10

Brothers and sisters: That I, Paul, might not become too elated, because of the abundance of the revelations, a thorn in the flesh was given to me, an angel of Satan, to beat me, to keep me from being too elated. Three times I begged the Lord about this, that it might leave me, but he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for power is made perfect in weakness.” I will rather boast most gladly of my weaknesses, in order that the power of Christ may dwell with me. Therefore, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and constraints, for the sake of Christ; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

The second reading for today is taken from Paul’s 2nd Letter to the Corinthians, and it focuses on our humble reliance on the LORD and the fruit of that reliance.

How open and responsive am I to the abundance of grace the LORD showers upon me?

Praying:

LORD, You created me and wove within my very being the fiber of love. Help me to live into the one You created me to be. Send your Spirit to fully awaken within me my potential to be your loving child. Most especially, LORD, open my mind and heart to your grace which You shower upon me so that I might more perfectly reflect to others the love, peace, and joy of a true disciple of Christ, reliant upon your loving mercy and grace. Amen.
