Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: June 12,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Matthew 11:25-30

At that time, Jesus answered and said, “I thank You, O Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things form the wise and prudent and have revealed them to the little ones. Such has been your will, Father, good in your sight. All things are delivered to me by my Father. No man knows the Son but the Father; neither does anyone know the Father except the Son and whoever the Son reveals Him.

“Come to me, all you who labor and are burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am meek and humble of heart, and you shall find rest in your souls, for my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Have I opened myself to the revelations of the Son? Have I sought out Jesus and given Him my burdens? Am I willing to surrender to His yoke?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

In today’s gospel, Jesus begins by praising the Father for revealing Himself to “the little ones.” We can understand this as the humble or the childlike. And then Jesus goes on to invite us to “come” to Him and accept a place beside Him, sharing His yoke. He promises to carry the weight if we will allow Him.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord, Jesus Christ, Son of God, my Savior, I come to You this day weighed down as You knew I would be, and I want to walk with You, to join You, to allow You to lead me and help me on this journey by helping me with the burdens of life. Grant that I may learn daily to let You, to allow You to lead and to learn from You. Grant that I might come to know the Father through You more fully. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
