Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: June 30,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Matthew 8:23-27

Jesus got into a boat and his disciples joined him. Suddenly, a violent storm came up on the sea that swamped the boat with waves, but He was asleep. They came and woke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!”

He said to them, “Why are you frightened, O you of little faith?” Then He rose, rebuked the winds and the sea, and calm came. The men were in awe and said, “What sort of man is He who even the winds and sea obey?”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

As I follow Jesus, do I trust that He is in control?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

In today’s gospel reading we witness Jesus’ power in life’s spiritual crises and are called to trust in Christ’s power and authority.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord Jesus Christ, Son of God, Savior, open my heart and mind to You and send the Spirit to increase my trust. Capture my very being, Lord, so in your love my fears may be conquered. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
