Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: June 7,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: 1 Corinthians 10:16-17

The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? For we being many are one bread and one body; for we are all partakers of that one bread.

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

In today’s second reading, Paul focuses on both the real presence of Christ in the Eucharist and our unity as the living body of Christ, the Church.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Almighty and Loving Father, You sent your only-begotten Son to us for our salvation, salvation from You, through Him, and in the Spirit. Through His selfless, loving sacrifice, He offered Himself for our sins, He offered His real body and blood so that we might have life. Send the Spirit to awaken fully within us the depth and breadth of this gift. Grant that we may not only grasp the meaning of the Eucharist as a sharing in Christ’s sacrifice but also the intended unity – that we become what we receive – the living Body of Christ. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.
