LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Ephesians 5:8-14
For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Walk as children of light for the fruit of the Spirit is all goodness and righteousness and truth. Recognize what is acceptable to the Lord. Do not partake of the unfruitful works of darkness but rather reprove them. For it is a shame even to speak of those things which are done by them in secret. But all things that are reproved are made visible by the light; and all that is visible is light. Therefore, it says, “Awake you who sleep and arise from the dead, and Christ shall give you light.
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
Am I doing things or being a way I don’t want others to see? Darkness. Light. Choose the light. Walk in the light of Christ.
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
Almighty Father, You sent your only-begotten Son to dwell among us, to take on our human nature in all ways except sin, and He lived the life You created us to live. He lived a life of loving presence to You and to those around Him. His love is a light to guide us to You. Send your Spirit to stir within us so that we may more clearly and more perfectly see His light and follow Him. We ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
