LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   John 7:25-30

Then some from Jerusalem asked, “Is this not the one whom they seek to kill? Yet he speaks without fear, and they say nothing to him. Do the rulers recognize that He is the Christ? But how can that be? We know this man and from where he came. Yet when the Christ comes, no man will know where he is from.”

Then Jesus cried out in the temple when he was teaching saying, “You both know me and where I am from. But I did not come on my own. The one who sent me is true, but you do not know Him. But I know him because I am from him, and He sent me.”

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

“where” – earthly origin.  “Sent” – divine origin – “I am from him”.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Almighty Father, your love for me exceeds my understanding. Why would You send your only begotten Son to redeem me, a sinner? Send your Spirit to stir within me, to open my mind and heart fully to your amazing love best revealed by your beloved Son, Jesus Christ, my redeemer. Grant that I my embrace Him as your Son, as my savior, and spend my life here following in His footsteps, coming to know You by coming to know Him. I ask this in the name of your Son, Jesus Christ, who lives and reigns with You and the Spirit, one LORD, forever and ever. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
