LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Hebrews 10:4-10
For it is not possible that the blood of bulls and goats will take away sin.
Therefore, when He (Christ) came into the world, He said, “Sacrifice and offering you did not want, but a body you have prepared for me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin You take no pleasure. Then I said, ‘Behold, I come to do your will, O God.’”
Above, when He said, “Sacrifice and offering and burn offerings and offerings for sin you want not.” Neither was pleasing which are offered by the law.
Then He said, “Behold, I come to do your will, O God.” He takes away the first so that He may establish the second by which we are sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
“I come to do your will” – Christ comes for love of the Father and for us, the sinners, whom the Father desires to have redemption and life.
“Once and for all” – a new everlasting covenant sanctifying believers
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
Almighty Father, send your Spirit to stir your transformative love within me so that I might long to do your will as your beloved Son, Jesus. Grant that I may seek this day and all days to walk in His light, to follow His way, to love You as He calls us to love You as “our Father.” May I daily grow in my desire to discern your will and to seek it with joy. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
