LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Psalm 27:1-4
The LORD is my light and my salvation;
Whom shall I fear?
The LORD is the strength of my life;
Of whom shall I be afraid?
When the wicked, even my enemies and my foes
Came upon me to destroy my body,
They stumbled and fell.
Though a host shall encamp against me,
My heart shall not fear;
Though war should rise against me;
In this will I be confident.
One thing have I desired of the LORD,
That will I seek;
That I may dwell in the house of the LORD
All the days of my life,
To behold the beauty of the LORD,
And to reflect in his temple.
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
The LORD – light instead of darkness and salvation instead of death
Absence of fear
“dwell in the house of the LORD” – abide with the LORD
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
LORD, You are my light and my salvation! I do not fear because I trust that You are with me. Guide me and grace me so that I might make this journey of life in You, with You, and through You. Grant that I may dwell within your house – that I may live with You forever. Amen.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
