Scripture Text:  Romans 12:9-16

Brothers and sisters:

Let love be sincere;

hate what is evil,

hold on to what is good;

love one another with mutual affection;

anticipate one another in showing honor.

Do not grow slack in zeal,

be fervent in spirit,

serve the Lord.

Rejoice in hope,

endure in affliction,

persevere in prayer.

Contribute to the needs of the holy ones,

exercise hospitality.

Bless those who persecute you,

bless and do not curse them.

Rejoice with those who rejoice,

weep with those who weep.

Have the same regard for one another;

do not be haughty but associate with the lowly;

do not be wise in your own estimation.

The first reading for today from Paul’s Letter to the Romans reminds us of who we are called to be and how we are called to act as followers of Christ.

How sincere is my love of Christ as lived daily in my love for others?

Praying:

LORD, Jesus Christ, Son of God, my Savior, everyday I seek to follow in your footsteps as I make my way along my journey to life in abundance with You, the Father and the Spirit, a community of love, one LORD. Send the Spirit to stir up within me the resolve to live as You commanded, with sincere love as the motivation for all I do. Grant that I may see those around me and with me as You see them and love them as You love them. May my life bring me closer to You daily and bring glory to the Father Almighty. Amen.
