Scripture Text:  John 16:12-15

Jesus said to his disciples: "I have much more to tell you, but you cannot bear it now. But when he comes, the Spirit of truth, he will guide you to all truth. He will not speak on his own, but he will speak what he hears, and will declare to you the things that are coming. He will glorify me, because he will take from what is mine and declare it to you. Everything that the Father has is mine; for this reason, I told you that he will take from what is mine and declare it to you."

The gospel text today from Jesus’ “Final Discourse with the Disciples” recounts Jesus’ testimony to the disciples concerning the coming of the Spirit and the Spirit’s guidance and graces for the disciples throughout the ages.

Praying:

Come, O Holy Spirit, fill the hearts and minds of your faithful servants and inflame them

with the fire of your divine love. Open our minds and hearts to your word. Help us to comprehend the wisdom and truth You spread before us as well as the love You shower upon us. Assist us in discerning our Savior’s will for us and strengthen our resolve so that we might live fully the life we are called to live. Come, O Holy Spirit, Come.
