Breaking the text open – background and summary:
The responsorial for today is the next segment of the hymn of praise proclaimed by Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego in the furnace which they were thrown by King Nebuchadnezzar.
Meditating on the text with personal questions:
As I read the praise of all creation, do I recognize myself among the ones who should “bless the Lord; praise and exalt Him above all forever”?
Praying:
LORD, send your Spirit to guide me and move me to lift my mind, my heart, and my voice to give You praise and to exalt You above all forever. Grant that I may humbly sing your praise every day of my life. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
