Date: Tuesday of 30th Week in Ordinary Time/Feasts of Saints Simon and Jude, Apostles
Scripture Text: Ephesians 2:19-22
Brothers and sisters:
You are no longer strangers and sojourners, but you are fellow citizens with the holy ones and members of the household of God, built upon the foundation of the Apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the capstone. Through him the whole structure is held together and grows into a temple sacred in the Lord; in him you also are being built together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Breaking the text open – background and summary:
The first reading for today is taken from the Letter to the Ephesians and reminds us that we are “members of the household of God” with Jesus Christ as the capstone and we are being building together into a dwelling place of God in the Spirit.
Meditating on the text with personal questions:
Am I living day to day as one who knows myself to be a dwelling place of the LORD?
Praying:
LORD, Almighty Father, Beloved Son, Most Holy Spirit, we lift our minds, hearts and voices to You this day in awe of all You are, our Creator, Savior, and Sanctifier. We call ourselves blessed because You are. You are our LORD, we are your people. Rouse us to live a life befitting for those who ask the LORD to dwell within us. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit. As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.
