LECTIO - Read Scripture Text: Mark 12:28-32
One of the scribes came…and asked him, “Which is the first of all the commandments?”
And Jesus answered him, “The first of all the commandments is this: ‘Hear, O Israel! The LORD our God is Lord alone! You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all you soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ The second is namely this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”
MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:
Love. It is all about love. Love for my LORD and love for my sisters and brothers. Am I bringing all of me to the LORD with love?
ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:
Heavenly Father, only-begotten Son, Jesus Christ, and Most Holy Spirit, I offer You this day my love for You that fills my mind, my heart, my soul and I ask for your help and guidance in loving myself as You want me to and my sisters and brothers as myself. Stir within me so that I find it impossible to contain my love and it overflows to my family, my community, to those most in need. Grant that I may bring my love for You to all my life and all that I do. Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now and ever shall be world without end. Amen.
CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
