Daily Scripture Reflection & Prayer: September 13,2026

LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Romans 14:7-9

No one lives for oneself, and no one dies for oneself. If we live, we live for the Lord. If we die, we die for the Lord. So then, whether we live or we die, we belong to the Lord. For this reason, Christ died and came to life, that he might be Lord of both the living and the dead.

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Do I bear in mind and heart my Savior, Jesus Christ, and allow the Spirit to guide me knowing that as Christ’s whatever I do impacts others?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

In today’s short second reading Paul delivers a deep and profound truth: we do not live for ourselves. We must always bear in mind that we belong to the Lord, whether we live or die, we belong to Christ. And as members of the living body of Christ, what we do affects the entire body of Christ; we never act in total isolation.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

Lord, I acknowledge that I do not live just for myself; rather, all I am and all I do is a gift from You. Send your Spirit to strengthen my resolve to honor You and love You always and everywhere in what I say, in what I do, in who I am. Amen.

CONTEMPLATIO – Sitting with the LORD in silence for a minute or more
