LECTIO - Read Scripture Text:   Psalm 145:17-21

R. (v 18) The LORD is near to all who call upon Him.

The LORD is righteous in all his ways

And holy in all his works.

The LORD is near to all who call upon him,

To all who call upon him in truth.

R. (v 18) The LORD is near to all who call upon Him.

He fulfills the desire of those who fear him,

He hears their cry and will save them.

The LORD keeps all who love him,

But the wicked will be destroyed.

R. (v 18) The LORD is near to all who call upon Him.

May my mouth speak the praise of the LORD,

And may all humanity bless his holy name

Forever and ever.

MEDITATIO - Meditate on text, allow the LORD to touch us with His Word:

Do I call upon the LORD in need with loving trust?

BREAKING OPEN THE TEXT:

Today’s responsorial psalm is a needed reminder to us of the LORD’s loving mercy and perpetual presence to us and our need to remain near and attentive to the LORD and to offer the LORD loving praise.

ORATIO – Lifting our minds and hearts to the LORD in prayer:

LORD, You are righteous in all your ways and holy in all your works. I acknowledge your power and presence, manifestations of your love that surpasses all love, your love that is the very source of all love and goodness and life. And as powerful as You are, your presence, your nearness, your being able to hear my cry gives me pause and moves me to offer loving praise and thanksgiving this day and all days. Amen.
